JFI Academy is built for professionals that manage people, lead (project) teams, train an organisational workforce, and support transformational change.

In JFI Academy you reskill your capabilities so that you can adapt, survive, and thrive the post-pandemic era.

You get support, guidance, reflection points, CPD, and access to our unique Learning Impact Lab to add to the overall learning experience.

Learning with us earns you CPD hours as you complete each Topic.

1 Topic = 2 hours study = 2 CPD hours

10 Topics = 20 hours study = 20 CPD hours

20 CPD hours = Professional Development Certificate in Future Capability

Why is reskilling important?

The future of work is reliant on the workforce upskilling or reskilling so as to meet their own and their company needs. As the business world continues to shift toward automation and new skill sets, individuals must find ways to gain the knowledge and skills they need to make themselves attractive to new employers and/or realise their own entrepreneurial dreams.

According to a study undertaken by Accenture in 2017 entitled the ‘Harnessing Revolution’ 85% of the 10,000 workers surveyed across 10 countries stated that they would invest their free time over at least 6 months to learn new skills so as to remain relevant in their workplace.

A reskilling imperative: By 2022 no less than 54% of all employees will require significant reskilling and upskilling. Of these about 35% are expected to need additional training of up to 6 months; 9% will need training lasting 6-12 months, while 10% will need training of up to a year

WEF Future of Jobs Report, 2018

Little did we know back then that reskilling and upskilling would be needed as much as it is now in 2022. Enter adaptive learning as the way forward – a personalised learning approach that is driven by you, our members.

What is adaptive learning?

Adaptive learning is an instructional design method that dates back to the work of behaviourist B. F. Skinner in the 1950’s who developed a teaching machine for incremental skill building with questions and answers immediately fed back to students to help them learn. Skinner’s notion of adapting learning was based upon individual performance, and this has progressed with time and the advancement of technology. Back then adaptive learning technology might easily have been seen as the beginning of what we know now as the Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Since the 1970’s practitioners have been developing technology systems to increase the reach of learning to many more people that can access it within a classroom-based environment, replicating the live instructor with digital learning in its many formats. Since 2000, there has been also been a steady growth of online courses, and during the pandemic years 2020-2021, came the need to use live virtual classrooms while people were in isolation because of Covid. We now have a market place flooded with digital learning courses for people to choose from, almost completely removing humans from the learning process.

We love digital learning, however we also love human interaction and learner engagement and so creating a fusion of these three approaches at the end of 2019 turned into JFI Academy. Taking the very best bits of adaptive learning and adding the advanced technology available, we put ‘humans’ back into the learning process, allowing learners to be involved in creating their personalised adaptive learning plans.

Members of JFI Academy complete a baseline assessment to create a bundle of content within their own allocated LearnZone, based upon what they need to learn and from the position of what they already know. Then they build upon this identifying what will challenge them moving forward within our ‘Future Capability Framework’ which is underpinned by our research into how to adapt, survive and thrive in the post-pandemic workspace.

Learning content is adjusted as needs change, optimising and building personalised learning pathways. With feedback and mentoring support members are encouraged to learn at their own pace, earn CPD hours, digital credentials, and a Professional Development Certificate in Future Capability™

This approach improves the learning process and ensures relevancy to the current, and future work situations that our members might find themselves in.

Unlike other online learning platforms powered solely by machine learning with hundreds of generic courses, JFI Academy is a hybrid platform and has been designed to use the principles of adaptive learning facilitated by technology, while also offering human-to-human live virtual contact for a more efficient, effective and personally-owned learning experience.

How many different Topics are there in the Academy?

There are 25 Topics across the 4 Capabilities in your allocated LearnZone – each of which have been carefully selected for their relevancy, level of knowledge and skill acquisition and are based upon extensive research into the needs of the workforce in the future for jobs that don’t necessarily exist yet. 10 of our 25 Topics have been acknowledged by the World Economic Forum as being the most relevant to help you develop the skill set that you need to remain flexible and adaptable.
